For years, I've been wanting to do site-specific theatre. Mostly, in really fabulous historic sites.
And now it's going to happen - in Paris, at La Chapelle Expiatoire, the memorial to King Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette. June 13, 2023. If you're going to be in town, come!
La Chapelle Expiatoire is one of the few places in Paris proper where Marie-Thérèse, the daughter of Louis XVI & Marie-Antoinette and my latest fascination, has a presence (the prison where she spent three years, five months and four days and a lot of time praying has been torn down). I pitched them the idea of doing a combo of a "visite dramatique " (a tour where an actor brings a site to life) and a one-woman show. And they caught (to complete the baseball metaphor).
I'm très excited about this - so excited, I wanted to share a nibble of the very top of the "show."
Per my usual, some caveats apply - it was a one-and-done recording, the virtual background has that irritating time delay, yes I have a dead tooth I need to deal with (TMI strikes again).
